Job Description

JOB TITLE
IT Technician
REPORTS TO
Technology Director
ANNUAL CALENDAR DAYS
240 days, 12 months
QUALIFICATIONS
Must meet all employment requirements set by the Opelika City School Board of Education. High School Diploma or GED required (with an appropriate WorkKeys score). Valid Alabama driver's license with reliable transportation and proof of insurance. Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in writing and in person. Ability to learn quickly and successfully complete assigned tasks.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Install, set up, and troubleshoot Windows PCs, Chromebooks, MacBooks, iPads, printers, document cameras, and other technology equipment. Perform basic computer upgrades and repairs. Install and update software. Provide technical support to school staff by phone and email for computers, software, and other technology devices. Assist with maintaining and tracking technology assets. Support shipping, receiving, and inventory of technology equipment and parts. Help maintain accurate records for devices, warranties, and documentation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodation for individuals with disabilities.
EMPLOYMENT
This is a 12-month position, 8 hours per day. Board approved salary schedule.
