EXPERIENCE SUPPORT SPECIALIST BASIC FUNCTION
Under the direction of the Director of Technology, perform a variety of first point of contact support duties involved with student, faculty, staff, and family/community learning systems and environments; maintenance, distribution, and processing of library, technology, and makerspace devices and materials from the district. The User Experience (UX) Support Specialist performs a variety of technical and computer support duties in the maintenance and support of instructional programs and online assessment; provide technical information and assistance in the operation of computers and use of computer programs/applications, systems and equipment to students and staff; support and manage library/media center resources at elementary and middle school sites.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
ELEMENTARY SITES
? Perform a variety of maintenance, processing, and distribution of instructional technology, instructional materials, library, and makerspace materials and devices at a school site; maintain library, makerspace, and technology devices and resources in a neat, organized, and orderly condition. ? Track and inventory site technology-related equipment such as computers, laptops, mobile devices, printers, projectors, monitors, library materials, and makerspace equipment. ? Inventory and management of the makerspace: verify, tracking, reordering, and checking out of teacher and student-used materials and devices, including the STEAM Lab Classrooms. ? Circulate library, instructional technology, and makerspace materials as assigned; check materials in and out to students and staff using an assigned computerized system. ? Promote the use of the new and existing makerspace, technology, and library materials and devices to faculty and students. ? In coordination with the iSTEAM2 Specialist, train staff and/or students in the use of technology/makerspace equipment and/or software as necessary. Share and collaborate with colleagues. ? The teacher must monitor and maintain acceptable student behavior and technology use in the makerspaces and media center.
MIDDLE SCHOOL SITES
? Support assigned elementary teams (CAN/GLO) with resolution of work orders (ticketing system), inventory, and maintenance and repair of instructional, library, and technology equipment and materials. ? Maintenance and repair of technology devices (CAN/GLO teams) ? Support elementary teams (CAN/GLO) with beginning and end-of-year distribution of materials. ? In coordination with the iSTEAM2 Specialist, train staff and/or students in information and digital literacy.
ALL SITES
? Perform a variety of maintenance, processing and distribution of instructional technology, library, instructional materials, and devices at a school site; maintain technology devices and resources in a neat, organized, and orderly condition. ? Track and inventory site technology-related equipment such as computers, laptops, mobile devices, printers, projectors, monitors. ? Circulate instructional, library, and technology materials as assigned; check materials in and out to students and staff using an assigned computerized system. ? Promote the use of new and existing technology tools to faculty and students. ? Input, scan and update student information and various other data and information in an assigned computer system; utilize district systems and devices to extract and verify data and information; establish and maintain automated records and files; initiate queries and generate reports. ? Train staff and/or students in the use of technology equipment and/or software as necessary. Share and collaborate with colleagues. ? Perform a variety of technical duties, in the maintenance, support, repair, and distribution of technology materials at school sites. ? Resolve support tickets and utilize district and higher level assistance as needed. ? Work collaboratively with the support of the district technology department to facilitate ordering, supporting, and maintaining software and hardware supplies. ? Download and/or install software as assigned by the district. ? Troubleshoot and fix minor problems, and when appropriate, for additional support, contact other User Experience Support Specialists, Solutions Support Specialists, iSTEAM2 Specialists, System Integration Engineers, and/or Director of Technology. ? Support and maintain school websites in collaboration with district communication and school principal initiatives. ? Provide technical assistance to students, faculty, staff and others in the selection, location, and use of equipment and resources; respond to inquiries and provide information and assistance concerning related practices, techniques, policies and procedures. ? Compile information and prepare and maintain a variety of records, lists, reports and files related to equipment, instructional materials, students and assigned activities. ? Communicate with students, staff, faculty and various outside agencies to exchange information and resolve issues or concerns. ? Operate a variety of office equipment including a copier, laminator, fax machine, computer, document camera, projector, television, scanner, or any other peripheral and assigned hardware/software; prepare and update backup computer data files as required. ? Respect confidentiality in all student, staff, community, and organizational matters. ? Attend mandatory meetings and training as required by the position.
OTHER DUTIES

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
KNOWLEDGE OF:
Record-keeping and report preparation techniques; correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary; data control procedures and data entry operations; oral and written communication skills; interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy; operation of computers, peripherals and assigned software; and modern office practices, procedures and equipment; basic technology/device support and repair. How to work collaboratively with other UX Support Specialists, District Solutions Support Specialist, or other district personnel to resolve emergent technical issues. This job requires confidentiality and practices for cyber safety and security.
ABILITY TO
Assist students, staff, and teachers in the selection, location and use of technology and makerspacematerials and equipment; monitor and maintain responsible student behavior in the library, makerspace, and school areas; collaborate with work colleagues, students, parents, and community members at school sites, thoroughly document processes and procedures, inventory, and resolution of support tickets; inventory, order and receive materials. devices, and equipment; meet schedules and timelines; operate a computer and assigned software; maintain files and records and prepare reports; type or input data at an acceptable rate of speed; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others; model appropriate behavior around and interact appropriately with children; and maintain regular attendance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum requirement: graduation from high school with computer related experience and/or training. Preference will be given to candidates who have: Completed at least 2 years of study at an institution of higher education (college level) OR obtained an associate's (or higher) degree OR met (pass) an assessment that demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to perform basic computer functions, and English usage.
