Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent Preferred Qualifications At least 2 years of experience as a system administrator for Brightspace by D2L.

At least 2 years of experience supporting instructional use of Brightspace by D2L at a large research university.

Practical knowledge of the factors involved in evaluating third-party tools for integration with a learning management system.

Practical knowledge of instructional tools like Turnitin, Respondus Lockdown Browser & Monitor, and Top Hat.

Knowledge of pedagogical principles for teaching at the college level, and their application to the use of technology for teaching. Position Summary The University of Georgia ( UGA) seeks an organized and engaged leader to join the Center for Teaching and Learning ( CTL) as Senior Assistant Director for Learning Technologies. This individual will have experience managing and/or providing support for a learning management or similar system, with an eye on effective use of that system by a broad set of users. The incumbent will provide leadership to a large group of learning technology support personnel across campus, while contributing their specific expertise to the work of the CTL. The Assistant Director for Learning Technologies reports to the Senior Associate Director for Teaching and Learning, collaborates with a variety of campus partners, and benefits from UGA's participation in a multi-institution Learning Technology Consortium. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies Practical knowledge of learning management system administration.

Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies in instructional settings, and to train others in the effective use of those tools.

Ability to take leadership among peers and partners from other units.

Ability to develop and execute programs focused on the use of learning technology in teaching.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Ability to effectively communicate information about learning technology across a range of stakeholders, including faculty, staff, administrators, and graduate students.

Duties/Responsibilities Duties/Responsibilities Serve as primary administrator for UGA's learning management system. Manage regular operations of the system and liaise with the University System of Georgia as necessary. Advise the Senior Associate Director for Teaching and Learning on policies, procedures, and potential changes to the learning management system. Collaborate with campus partners to evaluate and recommend next steps for requested learning management system integrations. Provide leadership among collaborative administrators for eLC across UGA, and coordinate with the Enterprise Information Technology Systems ( EITS) team to ensure smooth and continued operation of the learning management system. Percentage of time 50 Duties/Responsibilities Provide training, consultations, and support for instructors and teaching assistants in the use of current and emerging learning technologies related to effective teaching practices. Develop and implement workshops, resources, and other methods of support for users of learning technology at UGA. Manage campus communications related to learning technologies, and provide consultative assistance as needed. Percentage of time 20 Duties/Responsibilities Examine current and emerging learning technologies, and collaborate with stakeholders across campus who are committed to ensuring the positive impact of learning technologies. Provide CTL colleagues with information and training related to new or emerging learning technologies, and advise the Senior Associate Director on new trends in the uses of learning technology in higher education. Work with the Senior Associate Director to propose, develop, and execute new initiatives in learning technology at UGA. Percentage of time 10 Duties/Responsibilities Oversee, evaluate, and assess the impact of the annual Learning Technology Grant program. Facilitate Learning Technology Grant review and award process each spring semester; collect progress reports from recipients of the program; track progress and growth of the program over time; prepare reports on the impact of the Learning Technology Grant program. Percentage of time 5 Duties/Responsibilities Collaborate with CTL colleagues in programming related to the mission and goals of the CTL and the Office of Instruction. Provide periodic updates, annual reports, and documentation of engagement with the campus community, as requested. Communicate regularly with the Senior Associate Director for Teaching and Learning about ongoing work, project management, evolving priorities, and/or arising challenges.
