TECHNOLOGY SUMMER ASSISTANT PURPOSE
The Technology Summer Assistant works directly with all members of the Technology Team to assist in the cleaning, movement, replacement, configuration, and minor troubleshooting of all classroom technology. Exact duties and responsibilities will vary with each project the Technology Team accomplishes. This is a temporary summer position.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary function of the Technology Summer Assistant is to perform a variety of technical tasks in the operation and maintenance of computer, technology equipment and information technology systems in assigned sites and schools. The work is performed under the supervision of the Information Systems Supervisor and Director. The primary duties of this position are performed in a general office and classroom environments. Driving to and from various district locations may be required.ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Delivery, removal and maintenance of PCs and related peripherals; Load and unload trucks in a warehouse environment; Unbox, configure, and setup desktop computers, printers, and associated peripherals; Clean computer equipment and peripherals; Move, assemble, disassemble, and clean computer furniture; Hardware upgrades including replacing computer components such as hard drives, memory and video cards; Take apart and put back devices and power cords in laptop carts; Image computers; Electronic filing and data entry in document management systems; Update site inventory; Setup devices in the district mobile device manager; Perform specific support tasks as deemed appropriate by technology department guidelines Create and maintain documentation for information technology staff, school staff, and school administration members; Act professionally, ethically and confidentially in all aspects of employment; Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with District policies, procedures, and safety practices. Other Duties and Responsibilities Performs other related duties as required.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
Basic knowledge of classroom technology, including desktop computer, computer monitors, printers, and related connections and cables; Ability to use tools to assemble and disassemble devices; Ability to take instruction, learn, and apply procedures to complete given duties; Skills necessary for effective and professional communication with technology staff members; Ability to perform physical labor; Able to lift 50 lbs; Walk and stand for long periods of time. Ability to participate and contribute effectively in a team environment; Ability to prioritize and manage time and duties efficiently and responsibly; Flexibility to quickly adjust to ever changing priorities and job responsibilities; Qualities necessary to accomplish the duties and responsibilities listed below.Ability to:
Follow written and oral instructions; Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; Operate a personal computer and using program applications appropriate to assigned duties; Accurately record time via district time clock system; Operate standard office equipment; Operate a motor vehicle; Communicate effectively and establish working relationships with users, other employees, administrators, and the public; Perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines; Perform multiple tasks simultaneously, including handling interruptions and complete tasks in a timely manner; Demonstrate integrity, ingenuity and inventiveness in the performance of assigned tasks; Demonstrate organizational and customer service skills.QUALIFICATIONS
Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work; Valid Idaho Driver's License; Must be at least 16 years of age or older by the time summer work begins; Preference given to West Ada students and students who have graduated from West Ada within the last 4 years.ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL ABILITIES
Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to discern verbal instructions and communicate effectively in person and by telephone; Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to comprehend written work instructions, view computer screens, comprehend and prepare written technical reports, data sheets, user manuals, diagrams, and related information, and troubleshoot and perform repairs on computers; Sufficient manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to operate standard office equipment, operate and make adjustments to computer equipment, and operate a motor vehicle; Sufficient personal mobility, agility, and flexibility, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to sit or stand for extended periods of time; install and repair wiring and operating systems that require bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and working in confined spaces; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; and work in a classroom and office environment.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Temporary hourly position; Regular attendance is an essential function of this job. If you are chosen for this position your employment with the District would be "at will".
