About IPSD Caterpillar's Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Role Definition Caterpillar's Industrial Power Systems Division - Large (IPSD-L) currently has an opening for Embedded Product Analytics Senior Engineer within the Digital & Analytics team. This position is located at our Mossville, IL Tech Center - L facility. In this role, you will serve as a key technical contributor, responsible for supporting the planning, execution, and successful delivery of embedded analytics projects.
What You Will Do:
Contribute to the conception, development, and design of complex algorithms, analytical models, and applications that leverage product data from field and lab Perform complex analyses; identify design issues; and develop, validate, and implement solutions with a focus on technical delivery. Develop data mining processes and tools for engine data collection, aggregation, feature extraction, analytics modeling, and reliability/durability forecasting to support engineering design, simulation, CPI, and NPI. Collaborate with engineering and digital teams to tailor algorithms and models to division needs, supporting Caterpillar machines and a broad range of external applications. Drive innovation by creating and improving analytics capabilities that enhance the performance, reliability, and durability of industrial power systems. Partner with internal units, suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams, communicating technical information clearly, concisely, and accurately. Research and apply emerging analytics techniques and algorithmic approaches to meet customer requirements within agile and digital NPI processes. Stay current on evolving customer needs and new technologies; provide technical guidance and direction to less experienced engineers Develop and deploy machine-learning-based Engine and Aftertreatment Condition Monitoring Prioritized Service Event (CM-PSE) models and grow services revenue Degree Requirement Bachelor's degree in accredited Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer/Data Science Engineering required

Lists commonly used technical analysis tools and technologies. Documents key technical analysis procedures and policies. Describes basic concepts and major activities associated with technical analysis. Identifies the sources of information to extract the required data and technical indicators.

Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Level Extensive Experience:
Seeks discrepancies and inconsistencies in available information; explains variances. Organizes and prioritizes the sequence of steps to be taken to remedy the situation. Identifies many possible causes for a problem based on prior experience and current research. Quantifies the costs, benefits, risks and chances for success before recommending a course of action. Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Experience developing data-driven engine health and condition monitoring solutions, including proficiency in Python and SQL; data visualization tools (Tableau or Power BI); and working with Snowflake and/or Oracle databases. Proficiency in statistical and analytical methods, including Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) and AWS cloud computing. Extensive experience working with SC2, VIMS, PSR, and BDT data sources

Summary Pay Range:
$112,710.00 - $169,060.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
