If it is not completed in Spring 2027, it may be addressed in Fall 2027. Position Summary The co-op combines a technical Data Center technology assignment with responsibility for supporting the Indiana high school Work-Based Learning (WBL) component of the program. The co-op will gain applied technical experience, work under direct SME mentorship, and contribute documentation and lessons learned that support AMVIC's broader mission to develop, validate, demonstrate, and deploy advanced energy-to-power systems, infrastructure, and related training through public-private collaboration. Primary Responsibilities 1. Data Center Technology Project
  • Work on a defined technical project associated with Data Center technology under the direct guidance of an AMVIC technical SME.
  • Apply relevant engineering, technology, data, systems, or project-development methods to assigned technical tasks.
  • Participate in technical reviews, document progress, identify issues, and incorporate mentor feedback.
  • Prepare clear technical documentation, findings, recommendations, and handoff materials appropriate to the assigned project.
  • Follow applicable AMVIC, AMVI, partner, facility, confidentiality, safety, and data-handling requirements. 2. High School Work-Based Learning (WBL) Component
  • Work directly with AMVIC and its affiliated organization AMVI, BCSC/C4, and the AMVIC technical SME to help develop and implement processes aligned with
BCSC WBL
requirements.
  • Help develop an appropriate WBL approach aligned with Indiana's Work-Based Learning Menu of Experiences—Updated 2026-2027, based on student needs, partner capacity, and program goals.
  • Serve as a near-peer mentor to participating BCSC/C4 students, supporting authentic workplace learning, career exploration and readiness, professional skills, and documentation of qualifying WBL participation.
  • Coordinate with the technical SME and education partners to design student experiences that are feasible, developmentally appropriate, aligned with applicable competencies, and consistent with Indiana's broader WBL framework.
  • Collect feedback from students and partners and recommend improvements for a repeatable, sustainable co-op and WBL framework that can support multiple types of experiences. 3. Program Documentation and Final Knowledge Transfer

  • At the end of the applicable project phase, present technical results and program learnings to AMVIC, AMVI, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Contribute information that can help AMVIC, AMVI, and BCSC assess whether the model could support future WBL programming, including potential use beyond the CTE/C4 environment.
WBL Decision Point and Schedule Scheduling note: The technical Data Center project is the confirmed co-op focus. AMVIC, in coordination with AMVI and participating partners, will confirm the timing and structure of the high school WBL component. If that component is not implemented in Spring 2027, it may be scheduled for Fall 2027. If the WBL component proceeds during the co-op placement, the co-op will carry the direct WBL responsibilities described above, with oversight and technical mentoring from the
AMVIC SME.
Expected Deliverables
  • Defined technical work products for the Data Center technology project, as established with the
AMVIC SME.
  • Progress updates and organized technical/project documentation.
  • A final technical summary with findings, recommendations, and next steps.
  • If implemented during the placement, support one or more BCSC/C4 student WBL experiences selected and structured with education partners under the applicable Indiana WBL framework.
  • Process documentation and a best-practices summary covering the co-op structure and, if implemented, the design and delivery of the WBL framework.

  • Ability to learn unfamiliar technical concepts, follow direction from a technical SME, and complete assigned work reliably.
  • Strong written, verbal, documentation, teamwork, and presentation skills.
  • Professional judgment and ability to work appropriately with education, industry, and community stakeholders. Preferred
  • Interest in Data Center technology, energy-to-power systems, infrastructure, applied research, testing, validation, or technology demonstration.
  • Experience with technical documentation, data analysis, project planning, laboratory work, or multidisciplinary projects.
