Information Technology Full Job Description Overview:
The Summer Technology Assistant Intern supports the district technology department with summer technology projects and operational support across school buildings. This position is designed for an individual pursuing experience in information technology, computer support, or related fields. The role provides hands-on experience with device management, hardware deployment, inventory systems, and K-12 technology operations in a professional educational environment.Responsibilities:
Assist with Chromebook repair, troubleshooting, cleaning, and deployment preparation. Support district-wide technology inventory processes, including asset tracking and documentation. Assist with upgrading, imaging, configuring, and deploying desktop and laptop computers. Help move, organize, and install technology equipment for summer building and classroom projects. Prepare devices and peripherals for staff and student use during the upcoming school year. Assist with classroom technology setup, including monitors, projectors, docking stations, and related equipment. Maintain organized storage areas and assist with equipment surplus and recycling processes. Follow department procedures for equipment handling, cable management, and workplace safety. Provide general technical support to technology staff on various summer initiatives and projects. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality while working in school environments.Preferred Qualifications:
Current college student or recent graduate pursuing information technology, computer science, cybersecurity, engineering, or a related field. Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and troubleshooting concepts. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team. Willingness to learn new technologies and follow technical procedures. Previous experience with Chromebook, Windows, or educational technology environments is a plus, but not required. Ability to safely lift and move equipment weighing approximately 50 pounds.Time Commitment:
Seasonal summer position running Monday through Thursday, 8 hours per day, with schedule and daily assignments determined by department needs and project timelines.Similar remote jobs
