Job Description:
This candidate will be responsible for supporting photochromic lens testing: evaluating product performance metrics against requirements recommended or regulated by major standards bodies like ISO, ANISI, and other national standards organizations across globe. The candidate will also support routine instrument upkeep, which includes scheduled maintenance, instrument calibration, and minor repairs as needed. The candidate must demonstrate strong fluency in laboratory testing, which includes but not limited to following SOPs, operating analytical equipment like Hunter, Cary spectrophotometer, and in-depth knowledge and experience with optical techniques like the UV-Vis spectroscopy; good hands-on trouble-shooting experience with mechanical and electronic systems; skill in programming knowledge like Python or VBA is highly valued.Key responsibilities:
- Cover test entry, scheduling, testing, to data reporting to both internal and external customers
- Support photochromic measurement system innovation such as system improvements and new measurement methodology
- Following SOP's and scheduled maintenance
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in chemistry preferred, or an adjacent major including: biology, biochemistry, forensic science, environmental science, engineering, or physics
- Must have good communication skill and work both independently and in a team environment
- Good attention-to -detail on data quality and integrity
- Demonstrate good practice on quality control and trouble-shooting skills
- Understanding on photochemistry and coating technology a plus
