Job Description

Our client, an established and profitable independent E&P operator with onshore oil and gas assets across key U.S. basins, is seeking a detail-oriented Application Analyst to serve as the technical bridge between IT and operational teams across Drilling, Completions, Production Engineering, and Reservoir. This role is critical in supporting and optimizing upstream business applications, maintaining system integrity, improving workflows through automation, and ensuring technology solutions align with operational goals. Key Responsibilities Provide Tier 2 support for upstream E&P applications including Peloton WellView Allez, Aries, Spotfire, and related operational systems. Manage user access, permissions, software updates/patches, and coordinate with vendors and IT teams. Develop scripts, automation workflows, and system integrations to reduce manual processes and improve data flow across business applications. Support data integration across reporting tools and E&P accounting platforms. Troubleshoot application issues, resolve data gaps, and monitor system performance in collaboration with engineering and field teams. Maintain data integrity across drilling, completions, production, and reservoir datasets. Develop and maintain end-user documentation, training guides, and IT knowledge base materials. Support AI-driven analytics, automation initiatives, and predictive technology adoption. Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions and improvements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Petroleum Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of IT application support experience, including at least 1 year in an upstream oil & gas environment. Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI, SharePoint, Excel Power Query, and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience working with engineers, geoscientists, or field operations personnel in an operator environment. Understanding of upstream oil & gas workflows including well lifecycle management, production reporting, completions data, and reserves estimation. Knowledge of ITSM tools, help desk workflows, cybersecurity best practices, and enterprise data management systems. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Familiarity with SCADA systems and operational data environments is preferred. Experience with Python, Snowflake, Power Automate, or AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, etc.) is a plus.
