We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and technology-minded Bookkeeping Operations Associate to support client bookkeeping and day-to-day firm operations. This is a primarily remote/work-from-home position with no regular in-office schedule. Team meetings, training, and daily collaboration will generally be conducted virtually. Candidates must reside in South Carolina and be available for occasional in-person meetings, training, or firm events in the Columbia, SC area with reasonable notice. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bookkeeping, organization, client communication, and technology and is interested in growing with a modern accounting firm. Key Responsibilities
- Perform monthly bookkeeping, including transaction categorization, bank and credit-card reconciliations, and preparation of financial reports for review.
- Follow up with clients for missing information and respond to routine client emails and calls.
- Assist with client onboarding, scheduling, documentation, and other administrative tasks.
- Assist with occasional social media scheduling, posting, and client engagement as needed.
- Use firm-approved AI and automation tools to improve bookkeeping and administrative workflows.
- Maintain organized client records and follow established month-end procedures.
- Collaborate with senior staff and the owner and escalate complex accounting matters when needed. Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED/equivalent required.
- Basic bookkeeping/accounting knowledge through education or experience.
- QuickBooks Online experience preferred; QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
- Comfortable learning new technology, including AI-assisted tools and automation.
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate professionally in a remote environment.
- Professional, dependable, and client-focused.
- Must reside in South Carolina and have reliable transportation for occasional required in-person meetings or training in the Columbia, SC area.
