ATCC, a leading nonprofit biological resources and standards organization, is seeking an Associate Repository Technician to support inventory management, storage, and shipment of biological specimens and materials. This entry-level role based in Manassas, VA is ideal for individuals interested in biorepository operations and eager to learn technical processes in a regulated environment. We are seeking an independent Associate Repository Technician with inventory experience to work across multiple departments including shipping, repository & bioproduction. Responsibilities Inventory & Storage:
Maintain organized storage systems, monitor temperature-controlled environments, and ensure accurate data entry in ERP systems.
Sample Processing:
Perform supervised laboratory tasks such as aliquoting, nucleic acid extraction, and blood fractionation following SOPs.
Shipping & Receiving:
Process incoming shipments, replenish inventory, and prepare samples for outbound orders while adhering to safety protocols.
Quality & Compliance:
Document system alerts, report deviations, and follow proper handling procedures for hazardous materials.
Operational Support:
Assist with customer inquiries, share observations for process improvements, and respond to after-hour emergencies as needed. Qualifications High School diploma and 0-1 years' experience or equivalent experience. Repository, shipping, warehouse or inventory experience highly preferred. Basic understanding of laboratory procedures and biorepository best practices preferred. Ability to handle heavy materials safely and follow strict safety protocols. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and willingness to learn technical processes. Core competencies: adaptability, teamwork, problem-solving, and reliability. Benefits The expected salary range for this position is $40,000 to $45,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional incentive compensation including regular merit increases and the corporate bonus program. We Invest in
