Position Overview The Technical Designer serves as the technical authority for a specific group of product categories, bridging the gap between design vision and manufacturing requirements. You are an expert in garment construction and patternmaking who uses data-led insights to elevate quality and ensure consistent fit. Beyond managing tech packs and fit sessions, you will act as a strategic partner to global vendors and cross-functional teams. This role is built for a detail-oriented problem-solver who thrives in an agile, fast-paced environment and is passionate about the intersection of couture aesthetics and technical performance.
Accountabilities Development & Technical Packs:
Facilitate the hand-off of product technical packages with the Design team. Provide technical support for detailed sketches and maintain comprehensive, accurate tech packs throughout the entire product development lifecycle.
Pattern Development:
Utilize 2D and 3D tools to validate initial patterns, blocks, and grading. Maintain the integrity of grade rule tables and manage the global fit block library to ensure brand consistency.
Fit Validation:
Lead live fit sessions to achieve best-in-class results. Evaluate samples for performance, movement, and function while maintaining organized physical and digital archives.
Quality Assurance:
Support QA processes from initial development through post-purchase. Lead internal and external wear tests, implement corrective actions, and provide technical construction guidance to vendor partners to resolve manufacturing challenges.
Cross-Functional Partnership:
Collaborate closely with Design, Product Development, and Sourcing teams to define and execute the appropriate fit and functional intent for every product in the portfolio.
Qualifications Experience:

  • 3 years in garment technical design with category-specific expertise in both men's and women's apparel.
Technical Mastery:
Deep understanding of fit, construction, and pattern development. Experience with performance fabrics, technical finishes, and high-end tailoring is a significant plus.
Precision & Data:
Strong analytical skills with a focus on grading, fit transformation, and utilizing data to solve complex technical challenges.
Software Proficiency:
Skilled in MS Office and Adobe Illustrator. Working knowledge of PLM systems, 3D tools, and CAD software.
Operational Excellence:
Exceptionally organized with the ability to manage tight product development calendars and take initiative in a high-pressure environment.
Communication:
Strong verbal and written skills; a collaborative team player who can effectively communicate technical requirements to global vendors and 3PL partners.
Mindset:
Customer-centric, innovative, and eager to embrace a "test-and-learn" agile workflow.
