OUR MISSION
Our mission at Trick Chassis is to provide quality, custom-made parts at affordable prices, helping customers achieve the performance and reliability they need.
CORE VALUES
  • Deliver exceptional customer service every time.
  • Produce high-quality products our customers can trust.
  • Support a cohesive, employee-centric culture.
  • Provide and maintain a safe environment to work in.
  • Continue to grow through hard work, determination, and implementation of new technologies.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Trick Chassis is seeking an experienced and technically knowledgeable Technical Sales & Parts Specialist to serve as a key resource for our customers, vendors, and internal team. This position requires a strong background in automotive, motorsports, racing, chassis, suspension, performance parts, or a closely related field. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on technical knowledge with strong communication, customer service, sales, and problem-solving skills. The Technical Sales & Parts Specialist will help customers identify the right parts for their needs, answer technical and application questions, troubleshoot product and installation concerns, recommend solutions, and convert customer inquiries into completed sales. A major responsibility of this role is ownership and follow-through. When a customer begins an order but does not complete the purchase because of a technical question, product selection concern, fitment issue, availability question, or another obstacle, this position is responsible for proactively following up with the customer, resolving the issue, and working to complete the sale. This position will also serve as an internal subject matter expert for Trick Chassis and vendor-supplied products and will be responsible for developing and maintaining key vendor relationships. Vendor responsibilities include ordering products, maintaining current pricing and product information, identifying new product needs and opportunities, and ensuring vendor relationships are effectively managed. As the position develops, the Technical Sales & Parts Specialist will also assume increasing responsibility for inventory management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This job description is not intended to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the employee. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned as business needs evolve. Technical Sales & Customer Support
  • Serve as a primary point of contact and technical resource for Trick Chassis customers.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, emails, website inquiries, and other customer communications in a timely and professional manner.

  • Provide customers with the technical information necessary to confidently make purchasing decisions.
  • Convert customer questions and inquiries into sales opportunities and completed purchases.

  • Take ownership of customer sales opportunities from initial inquiry through completion of the order.
  • Proactively identify and follow up on orders or purchases that were started but not finalized.
  • Contact customers when an unresolved technical question, fitment concern, product-selection issue, availability question, pricing concern, or other obstacle prevented an order from being completed.
  • Determine what is preventing the sale from moving forward and work with the customer to resolve the issue.
  • Follow through consistently until the customer has the information needed to make a purchasing decision.
  • Maintain organized records of open customer opportunities and required follow-up.
  • Work to prevent potential sales from being lost because of unanswered questions or lack of follow-through.
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales while maintaining a customer-first approach. Technical Troubleshooting
  • Provide technical assistance to customers before and after a sale.
  • Troubleshoot product application, fitment, installation, and performance questions.
  • Help customers determine potential solutions when experiencing issues with products purchased from Trick Chassis.
  • Use product knowledge and problem-solving skills to accurately diagnose customer concerns.
  • Coordinate with other Trick Chassis team members, manufacturers, or vendors when additional technical assistance is needed.
  • Follow customer issues through resolution rather than simply transferring the question to another person.
  • Document recurring technical questions or product issues that may help improve future customer service and internal knowledge. Subject Matter Expertise
  • Develop and maintain an expert-level understanding of Trick Chassis products and key vendor product lines.
  • Serve as an internal subject matter expert for product, application, compatibility, and technical questions.
  • Be a resource for other employees when they need assistance with product information or customer questions.
  • Stay current on new products, product changes, technical specifications, applications, manufacturer information, and industry developments.
  • Ensure technical and product information communicated to customers is accurate and current.
  • Continually expand knowledge of racing, automotive, chassis, suspension, and performance-related products. Vendor Relations & Product Management

  • Serve as a key point of contact between Trick Chassis and assigned vendors.
  • Place product orders with vendors as needed and monitor product availability and vendor lead times.
  • Maintain accurate and current vendor pricing and ensure pricing changes and relevant product updates are communicated and implemented internally.
  • Maintain current vendor and product information within company systems.
  • Work with vendors to obtain technical specifications, product information, availability, pricing, and other information needed by customers and the Trick Chassis team.
  • Identify new products or product categories based on customer demand, industry trends, and business opportunities.

  • Assist with maintaining accurate inventory information.
  • Gradually assume greater ownership for inventory management and purchasing decisions as knowledge and experience develop.
  • Help Trick Chassis maintain appropriate inventory levels to support customers while responsibly managing company resources.
EXPECTATIONS & ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Become a trusted technical resource for customers, vendors, and coworkers.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Trick Chassis products and their applications.
  • Provide customers with accurate technical guidance and timely follow-up.

  • Work to convert qualified customer inquiries into completed sales.
  • Provide timely and effective troubleshooting support and follow issues through resolution.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and keep vendor pricing and product information current.
  • Demonstrate initiative rather than waiting for direction on every task.
  • Recognize issues and opportunities and take appropriate action.
  • Communicate effectively with the Owner and other team members.
  • Maintain organized and accurate information and demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and accountability.
  • Grow into increased responsibility for inventory management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
  • Previous professional experience in the automotive, motorsports, racing, chassis, suspension, performance-parts, fabrication, or a closely related industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of automotive and/or racing components and their applications.
  • Ability to understand product specifications, fitment, compatibility, and technical information and explain it clearly to customers.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Sales ability and comfort recommending products and asking customers for the sale.

  • Strong organizational, follow-up, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple customers, orders, vendors, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow responsibilities through completion.

  • Experience purchasing or ordering parts from vendors.
  • Previous inventory-management experience.
  • Familiarity with chassis, suspension, racing, fabrication, and performance applications.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate combines technical knowledge with the ability to communicate, sell, solve problems, and take ownership. You may be a great fit if you are the person others regularly come to when they have a question about a part, installation, application, or performance issue. You understand that technical sales is more than simply taking an order. It means understanding what the customer is trying to accomplish, asking the right questions, knowing the products, recommending the appropriate solution, and helping the customer confidently move forward with a purchase. Most importantly, you follow through. If you tell a customer you will get an answer, you get the answer. If a customer does not complete an order because they have a question, you follow up. If a vendor changes pricing, you make sure the appropriate information gets updated. If you see a product customers are repeatedly requesting, you bring the opportunity forward. You take ownership of your responsibilities and help make sure things get done.
