This role combines deep technical expertise in polymers and chemistry with strong sales acumen to drive revenue growth. You will build and maintain relationships with existing and new customers, provide technical support, recommend tailored polymer solutions, and expand market presence for our polyurethane and acrylic product lines. The ideal candidate thrives in a technical sales environment, enjoys problem-solving with customers, and is passionate about innovative, water-based chemistries. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets in assigned territories or market segments (e.g., coatings, adhesives, industrial applications). Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities through proactive outreach, technical presentations, and product demonstrations. Collaborate with customers' technical teams to understand formulation needs, troubleshoot challenges, and recommend appropriate Essential Polymers products (PUDs, acrylics, hybrids). Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships through regular communication, follow-ups, and exceptional service. Work closely with R D, production, and customer service teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment and customer satisfaction. Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities. Manage sales pipelines using CRM tools. Travel as needed (estimated 40-60%) to customer sites, trade shows, and industry events. Contribute to marketing efforts, such as case studies, webinars, or trade show participation.
Qualifications and Requirements Education:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or a related technical field (required). Advanced degree preferred.
Experience:
3+ years of technical sales experience in the chemical, coatings, polymers, or adhesives industry (preferred). Strong technical background in water-based polymers, polyurethanes, acrylics, or related chemistries. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and building customer relationships.
Skills and Competencies:
Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong problem-solving and consultative selling abilities. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficient in CRM software, Microsoft Office, and technical sales tools. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively.
Pay:
$100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
