SHIFT:
Days, Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30pm. Subject to change according to business needs.

JOB SUMMARY
The Sanitation Crew Lead will lead and work as part of the sanitation crew to ensure the plant meets mandatory sanitation requirements for machinery, equipment, and facilities. This position trains and leads crew members in daily tasks to achieve sanitary cleaning standards and goals. The sanitation crew lead will help the sanitation crew complete daily tasks as well as inspect/replace equipment as needed to uphold IMP cleanliness standards. This person carries out tasks in accordance with the Company's policies, OSHA regulations and applicable laws while following the Management Operating Structure (MOS).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures plant is audit ready at all times by cleaning, scrubbing, and sanitizing the outside of all equipment, tanks, stairs, walls, floors, baseboards, handrails, sinks, drains, and trash cans throughout the plant. Assists production staff with cleaning up major projects as needed. Responsible for the daily exterior cleaning of machinery. Ensures different rooms are cleaned throughout the plant by mopping, sweeping, wiping, etc. Takes direction from Sanitation Supervisor to resolve sanitation-related issues. Works with Production and other co-workers to meet sanitation schedules while maximizing productivity. Analyzes and resolves sanitation work problems and assists fellow employees in solving sanitation work problems. Responsible for keeping outside grounds cleaned, year-round. Clean common and office areas on occasion. Demonstrates sound work ethics. Pays close attention to detail. Ability to work well in teams. Actively participates as a member within the Sanitation Crew. Adheres to all plant, OSHA, and Safety Regulations. Trains new Sanitation Crew and Janitorial employees. Knowledge of all sanitation SOPs in order to track and sign off the master sanitation log. Help lead team productivity and oversee that assigned daily tasks are completed. Observe and report to the Sanitation Supervisor all safety concerns. Track and report to the Sanitation Supervisor all cleaning equipment conditions and usage. Helps the Sanitation Supervisor maintain and track bulk chemical and drum inventory. Performs other job duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS/QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Required:
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work-related experience.
Experience:
Dairy or food plant experience preferred. Previous experience leading a team preferred.
Working Conditions:
Subject to extreme heat: Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than two hours. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. Subject up to at least 92db's.
Physical Requirements:
Excessive ascending and/or descending of ladders and stairs using feet and legs and/or hands and arms on a regular basis. Body agility is emphasized.
Walking:
Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances on a continuous basis Repetitive motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Standing:
Particularly for sustained periods of time on concrete.
Stooping:
Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist on a regular basis.
Kneeling:
Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
Crouching:
Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
Lifting:
Able to lift up to 50lbs occasionally, up to 20lbs regularly.
Talking:
Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Includes activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of sanitation operations; maintains knowledge of current and developing sanitation techniques. Knowledge of HACCP preferred.
Skills:
Excellent verbal/written communication skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
