Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and skilled Saute Chef at The Oak and Palm to join our dynamic culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for expertly preparing and cooking a variety of sautéed dishes that delight our guests and uphold our high standards of food quality. Your energetic approach to food preparation, combined with your culinary expertise, will contribute to creating memorable dining experiences. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a strong foundation in kitchen operations and food safety practices. Weekends are a must! Responsibilities Prepare and cook sautéed dishes with precision, ensuring consistency and presentation excellence Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop menu items that reflect current culinary trends and customer preferences Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene throughout all food handling processes Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, seasoning, and cooking ingredients according to recipes and specifications Manage multiple orders efficiently during peak hours while maintaining quality standards Support kitchen operations by organizing ingredients, equipment, and workstation for optimal workflow Follow all food industry regulations and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment Qualifications Proven experience in a culinary setting, preferably with fine dining experience or restaurant background Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation techniques Knowledge of menu planning, food handling, and catering operations Experience in the dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus Familiarity with food safety standards and proper sanitation procedures Excellent cooking skills with an emphasis on sautéing techniques Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a high-pressure environment Prior kitchen experience within the food industry or food service sector is highly desirable
Pay:
$14.00 - $18.00 per hour
