SAWMILL/ SCRAGGMILL OPERATIONS

Position Summary:
The Scragg Mill Manager Oversees the direction, coordination, and development of the Scragg Mill Operations Team, ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of all facility equipment, structures and grounds, timely completion of all production goals and KPIs, balanced management of the budget, and scheduling.Reporting Relationships:
This position will report to the Plant Manager and will oversee the plant of approximately 50 team membersCompensation:

Drive Safety improvements (Zero Harm) across the Plant Manages, communicates, leads by example, and reinforces company values on the floor every day. Ensures mill runs safely and efficiently every shift. Develop and implement standards and processes to improve safety, quality and productivity. Ensure all members of the department are trained, developed and able to perform their tasks safely in a timely manner. Coach and discipline when needed. Responsible for managing the Scragg Mill operational budget, improving effectiveness of the department through complex analysis of available data and for overall efficiency of the sites workforce and assets. Maintain appropriate production and personnel documentation and logs. Ensure steadfast, daily communication with Plant Manager and Regional Manager through status reporting in matters of production, materials, and personnel, as appropriate. Collaborate with Shift Supervisors to create programs & plans to ensure that the proper machine operations, and crew safety are followed, to include steadfast adherence to all Lockout Tagout (LOTO) and Hotwork permitting protocols Lead the department in execution of assigned projects while maintaining the budget, forecasts, and timelines. Ensure workforce safety and operational efficiency of the equipment through the development of effective Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Empower the crews to maintain their equipment safely and effectively. Travels as necessary, to assist with training, auditing and various administrative functions. Performs other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities:
Direct Manager of the Scragg Mill Staff. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable Federal and State laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Skills & Competencies:
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and writtenMath Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, inventory software, payroll systems, internet software, human resources systems, and order processing systems.Qualifications:
Must have 5+ years experience in supervising all phases of Scragg Mill operations. Previous experience with sawmill preferred. Expert people management capability including hourly workers Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally Experience managing safety performance and programs Superior ability to manage people and motivate a team Excellent problem-solving skills and strategic thinking ability Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.Physical Demands:
