•This position requires previous horse experience. Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to: Answering phone calls and emails. Scheduling lessons, trails, and other reservations. Assisting director with management of staff and oversight of clients and horses. Running kid?s camps. Planning events, parties, and shows. Feeding horses. Cleaning stalls and barns. Keeping a tidy work area and barn area. Cleaning water troughs. Distributing hay for all horses. Dragging paddocks and arenas. Grooming horses as needed. Bathing horses as needed. Helping the vet and the farrier. Treating horses with wounds or medication needs. Participate and assist in staff training and development, team building events or other events as necessary. Perform other duties reasonably associated with the scope and needs of the farm and resort. Skills and qualifications Effective teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate verbally. Attention to detail and pro-active thought process. Great customer service skills including engaging with guests, listening carefully and ensuring a quality product is delivered each time. Must have previous horse experience and riding experience and be competent working with and around horses. Ability to foresee problems that may arise due to environment or circumstances. Critical thinking skills, ability to think quickly and respond to issues and emergencies that may arise. Ability to exercise patience when dealing with guests, children, and horses. Ability to pass a background check and drug screening. Must have a valid drivers' license. Physical Requirements This position requires complete mobility and the ability to withstand extreme outdoor environments. Must be able to stand, sit and/or walk a minimum of 8 hours daily and have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
