Description:

Performs diverse and complex assignments in support of superconducting magnet cartridge development: cartridge component development, coil winding and cartridge assembly. Assignments may include, but are not limited to: set up and running of data acquisition equipment for tests, carrying out experiments, troubleshooting, and reporting/documenting results of tests and measures, lead compliance and quality activities, and train other team members.

Key responsibilities/essential functions include:

Utilize initiative and independent judgment, construct, evaluate and improve complex engineering models using conceptual descriptions and ideas. Anticipate troubleshooting needs and perform complex troubleshooting encompassing multiple variables and unknowns to achieve root cause analysis and problem resolution. Recommend, instruct, design and conduct experiments and diagnostic tests to develop conclusions and solutions. May lead technician teams in developing hardware evaluations, to implement plans using knowledge of the product, system operation and complex engineering tools

Utilize advanced technical communications throughout the new product cycle to improve internal models and/or externally sourced components in terms of system performance, reliability, functionality, and serviceability. May provide leadership and daily supervision to all technicians within the assigned department, including the evaluation of performance and management of work plans. Work with the management team to lead and deploy training plans as needed. Take ownership for business objectives including, delivery, EHS, productivity, materials, costs, output, cycle time, and quality.

Use six sigma tools to lead teams and to improve established processes and metrics. Provide technical assistance by phone or in person to customer, field service personnel, or suppliers as needed. Travel to customer sites to assist or lead system level installations, problem resolution, and diagnostics as required. Little or no direction is given in execution of job related activities. Comply with EHS regulations and policies.

Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines

Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required

Knowledge and understanding of GEHC Design Controls Procedures in order to ensure that specified design requirements are met

Ensures the creation of accurate, complete and timely records

Required Qualifications:

Associates degree, or a High School diploma.

Demonstrated intuitive and advanced proficiency to logically troubleshoot up to system level, using identifiable problem solving techniques and previous experience

Ability to draw accurate conclusions from test data, malfunctions, or deviations, and coordinate implementation of corrections to the existing design or process

High proficiency to interpret and explain complex technical information.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated ability to work with little to no direction

Ability to communicate using local language

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology related field

Superconducting magnet coil winding experience

Superconducting magnet cartridge assembly experience
