Job Description

South Coast Is Looking for a Full-Time Appointment Scheduler for our Richmond Hill Pediatrics Office Join our dedicated primary care team as an Appointment Scheduler - a key member of our front office responsible for ensuring a positive first impression for every patient. This position requires exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high volume of calls with patience and professionalism. Key Responsibilities Schedule and coordinate patient appointments efficiently and accurately. Manage incoming calls on a multi-line phone system, providing courteous and professional assistance. Book, confirm, and reschedule appointments; relay messages to providers and staff as needed. Arrange interpreter or translation services when required and document accordingly. Collect and verify patient demographic information, updating records in the scheduling system. Maintain up-to-date provider schedules to ensure proper patient placement and workflow. Answer inquiries regarding appointments, services, and scheduling procedures. Update the master schedule daily with cancellations or additions and notify providers or nurses as appropriate. Perform additional administrative duties as assigned by the Supervisor. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a medical office or imaging department preferred. Previous switchboard or call center experience strongly preferred. Strong verbal communication and customer service skills. Ability to communicate clearly, remain professional under pressure, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with word processing and computer-based scheduling systems. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma. At least one year work experience in a medical office/Imaging department setting. Prefer prior switchboard operations experience. Knowledge of medical terminology desired. Word processing and computer experience.
