Job Description

Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting students in PreK through 12th grade as a part-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for the 2026-2027 school year. This flexible contract role provides the opportunity to work closely with a small, diverse caseload of 13-14 students who benefit from your expertise just one day per week. You'll play a vital role in their educational growth, helping students achieve functional and academic success through occupational therapy services tailored to their unique needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Previous experience working in a school-based setting strongly preferred Understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and experience documenting student progress Strong communication skills to collaborate with supervising occupational therapists, teachers, families, and support staff Ability to organize and manage a part-time caseload efficiently
Responsibilities:
Provide direct occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of an occupational therapist Assist students from PreK through 12th grade in developing fine motor, sensory-motor, and daily living skills in accordance with established IEP goals Record ongoing progress, update documentation, and contribute to student reports Collaborate with other educational professionals to adapt activities and environments for academic access and participation Support the OT in assessments, planning, and implementation of strategies for student success This contract position is perfect for those seeking a consistent, part-time role during the school year (August 10, 2026-May 13, 2027), providing impactful services one day per week for a manageable caseload.
