Job Description

Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a key role supporting students as an LPN within a vibrant educational setting near Shawnee, KS. This contract opportunity requires a dedicated, compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to work in a 1:1 school-based assignment. The position covers the current, extended, and next school year cycles, with ESY running June 1st-25th, Monday through Thursday, 8:10 a.m.-12:10 p.m., and NSY beginning August 12, 2026, through May 20, 2027. Full-time hours (37.5/week) provide the chance to make a lasting impact on the health and well-being of an individual student.
What We're Looking For:
Active LPN/LVN license in Kansas Experience or training in pediatric and/or school-based nursing preferred Reliable, detail-oriented, and adaptable to the dynamic needs of a school environment Familiarity with individualized health care plans and ability to document daily care Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with all district policies
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver 1:1 direct nursing care, medication administration, and monitoring of student needs Communicate changes in condition to appropriate educational and healthcare staff Support the student in accessing the learning environment safely and successfully Document all activities and maintain up-to-date health records Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, therapists, and family members Participate in IEP meetings as required This assignment is fully onsite and offers consistent hours during the school calendar.
