Job Description

Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a meaningful role supporting student wellness as a contract School Registered Nurse in a dynamic educational environment. Begin your assignment in early August and provide care through late May, contributing directly to student success each day. This onsite position near Shiprock, NM, places you within a district setting (exact location to be determined), where you will make a lasting impact by fostering healthy school communities.
Responsibilities include:
Implementing and evaluating school health policies and procedures in line with New Mexico regulations Delivering health services for students through all phases of the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation Handling sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion Advocating for student health needs, rights, and access to resources Identifying and addressing health concerns that may impact students' learning, including social, physical, and psychological factors Facilitating effective communication among students, families, school staff, medical providers, and community partners Participating in all aspects of the school health program: planning, implementation, and continuous improvement Desired experience and qualifications: Associate's, Bachelor's degree, or higher in Nursing Active Registered Nurse license issued by the New Mexico Board of Nursing Current Professional School Nurse License issued by the State of New Mexico Experience in K-12 or pediatric nursing preferred, but not required This is a 37.5-hour per week onsite contract role with two openings available within the district, offering you the opportunity to work collaboratively with educators and support staff in a positive, student-centered environment.
