Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic, rewarding role supporting students across K-12 grade levels as a dedicated school social worker. This is a full-time contract opportunity located near Ann Arbor, Michigan, spanning from August 2026 through early June 2027. As a vital part of the school community, you'll collaborate closely with educators, administrators, and families to help students achieve their best both academically and emotionally. Your expertise will make a meaningful impact, providing essential services and advocacy to students of all backgrounds. Expect a hands-on, onsite role engaging with students and staff throughout the academic year.
Qualifications and Credentials:
Master's degree in Social Work required Active SSW-310 Authorization for School Social Work OR MDE School Social Worker Credential Relevant experience working in a school setting strongly preferred Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Compassionate, collaborative, and committed to fostering student success Ability to work full-time during standard school hours, onsite at school locations Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse K-12 caseload
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct social work services and interventions to students Support social-emotional learning, behavioral, and academic success Collaborate with teachers, school counselors, and administrators to address student needs Participate in individualized education plan (IEP) meetings and provide required documentation Serve as a resource connecting families to community programs and supports Advocate for students' well-being and equitable access to education This contract assignment offers the opportunity to make a significant difference for students across multiple grade levels during the school year.
