Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract A rewarding opportunity awaits skilled social workers eager to make a meaningful impact in an elementary school setting. This contract position offers the chance to work closely with students, families, and staff to foster a supportive and effective learning environment. Reporting directly to the building Principal and the Assistant Superintendent for Special Services, this role is pivotal in addressing and removing barriers to student success.
Key Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution
Valid Illinois School Social Work Certificate Preferred:
Two or more years of experience within school settings (new graduates considered) Ability to supervise student social work interns if applicable Demonstrated commitment to professional growth through workshops, seminars, and research
Responsibilities Include:
Conduct assessments to identify students' social and emotional needs Provide crisis intervention and develop home/school/community partnerships Participate in Special Education evaluations and adaptive behavior assessments Aid teachers in planning strategies to meet student needs Address issues related to truancy, delinquency, and behavior concerns Maintain comprehensive and accurate service records Coordinate smooth transitions for students across programs and services Refer students and families to in-house and community resources as appropriate Adhere to mandatory reporting regulations regarding child abuse/neglect Offer in-service training to school staff and parents Stay active in professional organizations relevant to school social work Recommend curriculum modifications to support student achievement Carry out additional duties as directed by administration This role offers competitive pay at $45-$50 per hour, weekly pay cycles, and access to healthcare benefits, ensuring you are well-supported both professionally and personally.
