Job Description

Category Schools - Behavior Specialist Job Type Contract Make a lasting difference supporting students in an educational setting as a Behavior Specialist. This contract opportunity offers the chance to positively impact young lives by working closely with students, educators, and support staff. You'll provide your expertise and guidance to help foster a supportive and inclusive school environment. Utilize your behavioral management skills and passion for student growth in a collaborative and welcoming community.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Behavioral Science, or related field (Master's preferred) Relevant certification or licensure as a Behavior Specialist as required Demonstrated experience developing and implementing behavior intervention plans in a school setting Strong understanding of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and best practices for behavioral support Excellent communication skills to collaborate with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams Ability to collect and analyze data to inform interventions and track progress Experience supporting students with diverse behavioral and emotional needs is highly valued
Key Responsibilities:
Assess student behavior to identify challenges and recommend evidence-based intervention strategies Develop, implement, and monitor individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) Train and support teachers and classroom staff in effective behavior management techniques Collaborate with counselors, special educators, and administrators to ensure consistent and positive outcomes Engage families in the intervention process and provide resources or guidance as needed Maintain thorough documentation of interventions, progress, and compliance with school policies
