We partner with schools, districts, state agencies, and other organizations providing education and education related support to implement innovative, research-based solutions that promote student success. SPN fosters inclusive, high-performing learning environments where students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. About this position The School Counselor provides a comprehensive counseling program that supports students' academic, career, and social/emotional development. In alignment with the Texas Education Agency guidelines and the American School Counselor Association National Model, the counselor works collaboratively with students, staff, families, and the community to ensure all students have access to a safe, supportive, and academically challenging learning environment. Key Responsibilities Student Support & Counseling
  • Provide individual and group counseling to address academic, emotional, behavioral, and social concerns
  • Assist students in developing coping, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
  • Respond to crisis situations and provide appropriate interventions and referrals Academic Development
  • Support students in setting academic goals and monitoring progress
  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to improve student outcomes
  • Assist with course selection and academic planning Program Development & Implementation
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with state standards
  • Use data to assess program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement
  • Deliver classroom guidance lessons on topics such as SEL, bullying prevention, and goal setting Collaboration & Communication
  • Partner with teachers, administrator, and parents to support student success
  • Serve as a resource for staff regarding student mental health and behavior
  • Facilitate parent meetings and workshops as needed Compliance & Documentation
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records in accordance with state and federal laws
  • Ensure compliance with Texas counseling program requirements Education & Certification Master's degree in School Counseling or related field Valid Texas School Counselor Certification as required by the Texas Education Agency Required Qualifications
  • Hold Master's Degree and state licensure
  • 3 years of teaching experience.
  • Bachelor's degree (for Grades K12)
  • Fluency in Spanish (spoken and written)
  • Ability to travel Monday through Friday to Dilley, Texas
  • Ability to work in a year-round position schedule
  • Ability to pass required background checks Experience Prior experience in a school setting preferred Experience working with diverse student populations Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong understanding of child and adolescent development Knowledge of counseling techniques, crisis intervention, and mental health resources Familiarity with Texas graduation requirements and college readiness standards Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and build trusting relationships Compensation & Benefits Salary $79,000
