Job Description

Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Exciting opportunities await compassionate nursing professionals with a passion for supporting students in an educational environment. This contract position is ideal for a skilled nurse ready to contribute within a dynamic school community in the Oak Lawn area for the 2026-2027 school year. The selected individual will report directly to the Building Principal and serve as a critical resource for both students and staff.
Qualifications & Experience Desired:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or Professional Educator License with School Nurse Endorsement (SN); Certified School Nurse (CSN), or holds other licensure that highly qualifies for a school nurse position Prior experience providing nursing care to elementary or middle school-aged children Familiarity with school settings and the unique medical needs of children within an educational context Understanding of how public schools support economic and community development Genuine commitment to the school's mission and values within the broader community Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues Experience in the IEP process, or a willingness to learn Willingness to engage with or learn play-based evaluation models Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively as part of a multidisciplinary team as well as independently Excellent organizational skills and an aptitude for managing multiple priorities
