Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic and rewarding setting supporting students' growth and independence over a focused, four-week summer program. This contract position offers the chance to make a real impact, working 20 hours per week from mid-June to mid-July. You'll collaborate with educators and families in a school-based environment near Oakland, CA, using your expertise in occupational therapy to create engaging, individualized strategies that support students' extended school year (ESY) needs.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
Current Occupational Therapist license for California Recent experience working in a school-based setting Familiarity with IEPs, progress monitoring, and adapting interventions for diverse learners Strong communication skills to foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team Commitment to respecting student confidentiality and supporting a positive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate and assess students' functional abilities relevant to school participation Set and implement tailored occupational therapy interventions to support academic and functional goals Document services, track student progress, and collaborate on IEP goals Provide guidance, consultation, and resources to teachers and staff to support student integration and participation Communicate effectively with families regarding progress and strategies for continued growth Maintain accurate, timely records in accordance with school policies and standards This contract role is ideal if you're passionate about helping young learners thrive, and are looking for a flexible, short-term assignment that truly makes a difference.
