Job Description
Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract An opportunity awaits for a dedicated Occupational Therapist to provide meaningful support to students and young adults transitioning into independence. This contract role offers a rewarding schedule, focusing on a diverse caseload spanning pre-K through young adult, with a mix of school-based and home-based interventions. This position begins May 26th and continues through June 25, 2026, offering 18 hours per week. You'll spend 16 hours in school environments and provide 2 hours of service in a local home setting. This balanced approach allows for a well-rounded experience and the chance to work closely with students of varying ages and needs.
Qualifications and Skills:
Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program at the master's or doctorate level (ACOTE-approved) Successful completion of fieldwork and clinical training requirements Passing score on the NBCOT national certification exam (with verification sent to Illinois licensing) Ability to pay application and licensure fees and maintain state license with continuing education Current, active Illinois OT license Experience within a school setting is preferred Familiarity with the IEP process is advantageousKey Responsibilities:
Deliver occupational therapy services to pre-K students through adult transition programs Work collaboratively with school staff, families, and other service providers to maximize student progress Develop and implement IEP goals and track outcomes Provide direct interventions both at school sites and in a home setting Continue professional growth and maintain up-to-date licensure in Illinois Step into a fulfilling role that directly supports the growth and independence of students in the Schaumburg, IL area.
