Job Description
Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic contract opportunity as an Occupational Therapist supporting a vibrant summer school program near Independence, MO. This role is ideal for those passionate about empowering students to reach their full potential while enjoying a flexible schedule during the month of June. In this position, you'll provide essential OT services within a supportive school environment, working closely with educators and families to address student needs. Expect to engage with a diverse caseload, tailor interventions, and witness the meaningful growth of each student you serve over the course of this short-term assignment. The commitment is approximately 20-25 hours per week, ensuring balance and the perfect summer work-life rhythm.
Requirements:
Active Occupational Therapy license for the state of Missouri Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred Understanding of Individualized Education Program (IEP) processes Strong communication skills for collaboration with students, staff, and caregivers Ability to conduct assessments and implement OT strategies tailored to the school environment Flexibility and adaptability to address the unique needs of summer school studentsKey Responsibilities:
Deliver direct and consultative OT services to students, focusing on skill development and access to curriculum Conduct evaluations and interpret results to inform intervention plans Collaborate regularly with teachers, aides, and special education personnel Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school guidelines Participate in IEP meetings and provide input for goal setting Experience a rewarding contract role that offers a meaningful way to stay engaged with your profession over the summer.
