Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Make a difference in the lives of PreK-12 students by providing vital psychological services across a district setting. This full-time contract opportunity spans the academic year, where you'll collaborate with educational staff and families to support student well-being and address diverse learning needs onsite. Candidates must hold an active NCDPI School Psychologist license and have experience with ECATS.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations for students suspected of having disabilities. Engage in consultation, counseling, and crisis interventions to meet student needs. Participate actively in multidisciplinary district-level teams and collaborate with teachers, staff, and families. Hold conferences with parents to discuss student challenges and develop effective intervention strategies. Provide trainings to school staff on relevant psychological and mental health topics. Address mental health needs proactively, offering support both reactively and preventively within the school community. Fulfill other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
Active NCDPI School Psychologist license (must be attached during the application process). Demonstrated experience with ECATS. Previous work in public school settings (PreK-12 preferred). Strong ability to communicate and collaborate with educators and families. Skilled in running trainings and engaging in crisis response. Flexible, solution-focused mindset and commitment to student success.
Position Details:
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week; academic year calendar from 8/4/26 - 5/28/27. Collaborative, varied work environment; onsite work at multiple district campuses. Mileage between campuses is not reimbursed. One current opening; interviews conducted via Microsoft Teams.
