Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Take the next step in your career as a School Psychologist by making a meaningful impact across elementary, middle, and high schools for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract opportunity offers a diverse caseload and the chance to work in a dynamic educational environment near Chesapeake, VA from August 2026 through June 2027. With a dedicated weekly schedule of 35-37.5 hours, you'll have the ability to help shape student success, contribute to school communities, and support students' academic and emotional development.
Key Qualifications:
Active School Psychologist certification (or eligibility for credentialing) Experience conducting psycho-educational assessments and evaluations Comfort working with students at elementary, middle, and high school levels Expertise in coordinating and attending IEP meetings Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams Flexibility and willingness to manage a varied caseload—preferences for elementary, middle, or high school may be accommodated
Primary Responsibilities:
Complete comprehensive psychological assessments and evaluations Interpret testing data to inform educational plans and interventions Lead and participate in IEP meetings, collaborating with staff and families to develop student support strategies Consult with teachers and administrators to help implement individualized learning and behavioral interventions Maintain accurate, timely documentation and comply with all relevant regulations Provide counseling and crisis intervention services as needed Bring your passion for student advocacy, problem-solving, and school-based consultation to a supportive setting that values your expertise.
