Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the 2024-2025 school year supporting students' academic, social, and emotional growth in a dynamic, collaborative educational community. This full-time contract opportunity is based near Palatine, IL, and is perfect for a School Psychologist passionate about early intervention and specialized programming. This unique position is split between an Early Childhood Center serving preschool and kindergarten students (3.5 days/week) and a specialized elementary program designed for students with autism and developmental disabilities (1.5 days/week). Each setting provides a chance to use your expertise to nurture young learners and support inclusive education.
Qualifications:
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Psychologist endorsement required Experience or strong interest in working with early childhood populations Comfort with assessment, consultation, and intervention strategies for students with autism and developmental disabilities Ability to collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families Excellent communication and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to identify student strengths and needs Collaborate in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) Provide consultation and support to teaching staff in behavioral and academic interventions Deliver crisis intervention and counseling services as appropriate Monitor student progress and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues This is a rewarding chance to contribute to both early learning and specialized educational programs—helping students achieve their fullest potential in supportive, resource-rich environments.
