Job Description

Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Make an impact in education as a Certified School Nurse (CSN) or Registered Nurse (RN) for the 2026/2027 school year. This contract position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive health services to students while working in a collaborative environment alongside a supportive team of RNs. As the sole CSN in the district, your expertise will be highly valued, and you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring student wellness and safety.
Required Qualifications:
Active Professional Educator's License (PEL) in Illinois with Certified School Nurse endorsement Registered Nurse (RN) credentials Background in school nursing, student health services, or pediatric care is preferred Familiarity with special education processes, including IEPs and 504 plans Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the lead Certified School Nurse for the district, acting as a resource for health-related matters Conduct hearing and vision screenings for students in accordance with state requirements Maintain, update, and contribute to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and student health plans Collaborate with a network of district Registered Nurses to deliver coordinated healthcare support Offer assessment, health education, and care for students with acute or chronic health needs Document all procedures accurately and maintain compliance with district and state guidelines
