Job Description

Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic school district environment serving a diverse TK-12 student body of 3,650 learners. This contract opportunity centers on supporting elementary-aged students (TK-5th grade) at a single site, where you'll manage a focused caseload averaging 60 students. The role spans a variety of speech and language needs, from general education to moderate/severe disabilities, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact across a broad spectrum of student abilities. Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) credential is required for this position Prior school-based SLPA experience preferred, with comfort handling caseloads with varying needs Demonstrated ability working with elementary-age children, including those with moderate to severe disabilities Strong understanding of IEP processes and best practices for direct service delivery, assessments, and evaluations Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with staff, students, and families Flexibility and organizational skills to adapt to changing caseload dynamics
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct speech and language services to elementary students in alignment with IEP goals and district guidelines Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations as required, documenting findings and progress Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and participate in IEP meetings Manage a caseload of approximately 60 students with varied support needs Develop intervention strategies and support materials tailored to individual student profiles Enjoy the stability of a full academic year contract (August to June) with a consistent weekday schedule, allowing you to create lasting connections with students and colleagues.
