Job Description

Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract Help make a difference supporting students as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant in a welcoming school setting near Elizabeth City, NC. This full-time contract opportunity (37.5 hours per week) spans from August 12, 2026, to June 7, 2027, offering meaningful work in a supportive environment. In this position, you'll focus on providing both direct and indirect services to students while benefiting from guaranteed hours each week. Enjoy the advantage of dedicated therapy responsibilities—without having to take on tasks like bus or parent pickup duties outside of your contracted hours. If you're a travel therapist, you may also qualify for stipends.
Qualifications & Experience:
Associate's degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant program Active SLPA license or eligibility in North Carolina Experience working with children or within a school environment preferred Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Ability to follow treatment plans and work under the supervision of a
Speech-Language Pathologist What You'll Do:
Deliver speech and language interventions to students under the direction of an SLP Support progress documentation and maintain accurate records of student performance Adapt and implement therapy materials and activities to suit student needs Collaborate with SLPs, teachers, and support staff to enhance student communication skills Participate in IEP-related activities as required within contracted hours
