Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Make an impact supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students near Mesquite, TX as a contract Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for the upcoming school year! This full-time opportunity is ideal for an SLP fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) or holding a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHHT) certification, who is passionate about therapy-focused work within a collaborative multidisciplinary team. You'll join a regional day school program alongside two other SLPs, providing direct speech therapy to elementary through high school students in a specialized DHH environment. With approximately 130 students in the program and shared responsibilities, you'll primarily deliver therapy services, using your ASL skills to bridge communication and foster student growth.
Qualifications:
Valid Texas SLP license required Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) or DHHT certification Experience working with DHH students preferred Knowledge of school-based therapy practices Commitment to completing TEA fingerprinting for onboarding (unless current clearance with another Texas district)
Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and group speech-language therapy to DHH students, focusing on enhancing communication and language skills Collaborate with a dynamic team of SLPs, teachers, and support staff Support students' IEP goals with tailored interventions and data-driven progress monitoring Consult with families and educational teams to develop communication supports Serve as a knowledgeable resource on best practices for serving students who are deaf or hard of hearing This full-time position runs from August 11, 2026, through May 28, 2027, with a 37.5-hour workweek.
