Position Summary The incumbent in this position is a member of management team that is responsible for the daily oversight, direction and organization of staff members who conduct cultural resource surveys. In addition, the Archaeologist II, Project Archaeologist supervises and performs cultural resource surveys, including excavation, field data collection, and data recording for STOF fee or trust lands. The individual ensures that fieldwork is conducted in a manner consistent with Tribal and federal laws. The incumbent is required to report to any one of the seven (7) reservations depending on daily scheduled project work. Qualifications Master's Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, History, or closely related field is required. A minimum of four (4) years of archeological experience, with prior experience in a supervisory capacity is required. An additional two (2) years writing cultural resource assessment survey reports is required. Prior experience working with Geographic Information System (GIS) is preferred. The incumbent must possess an inquisitive mind, patience and enthusiasm as excavations can be physically demanding. The incumbent must possess a valid Florida Driver's License or have the ability to obtain one prior to hire. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. The incumbent must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Pay:
$68,299.00 - $81,500.00 per year
