In this energetic role, you will lead archaeological investigations, manage data collection efforts, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure responsible excavation and research practices. Your expertise will help illuminate history through meticulous analysis, innovative research, and detailed reporting. Responsibilities Conduct archaeological excavations, site surveys, and assessments with precision and enthusiasm. Collect, document, and analyze archaeological data using GPS devices, GIS (Geographic Information Systems), and ArcGIS software to create detailed spatial maps. Manage laboratory processing of artifacts, ensuring proper conservation, cataloging, and data entry. Utilize technical skills in report writing to prepare comprehensive findings for academic publications, project documentation, and stakeholder presentations. Supervise junior team members or interns during fieldwork and laboratory activities to promote safety and best practices. Collaborate with construction teams to assess potential impacts on archaeological sites and provide recommendations for preservation or mitigation. Prepare detailed reports that communicate research findings clearly and effectively for diverse audiences. Requirements Proven experience in laboratory settings working with artifacts or similar data processing tasks. Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS for spatial analysis and mapping purposes. Strong knowledge of GPS technology for accurate location data collection in the field. Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough research, analyze complex data sets, and synthesize findings into clear reports. Excellent technical writing skills for preparing detailed documentation and scholarly articles. Previous supervising experience in archaeological projects or related fields is highly desirable. Familiarity with construction processes and how they intersect with archaeological site management is a plus. Ability to perform physical tasks associated with field excavations including lifting, digging, and prolonged outdoor activity.
