Your impact Jacobs is seeking a Senior Cultural Resources Specialist to provide technical leadership, project management, and client-facing support for cultural resources and historic preservation services across infrastructure, environmental, and federal programs. This role supports multidisciplinary teams and works closely with clients to deliver compliant, high-quality solutions under NHPA, NEPA, and applicable state and local regulations. The Senior Cultural Resources Specialist serves as a trusted subject matter expert, leads complex cultural resources tasks, mentors junior staff, and contributes to business development efforts. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and approve technical deliverables including survey reports, evaluation reports, treatment plans, and Memoranda of Agreement or Programmatic Agreements
- Lead and contribute to compliance activities under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, NEPA, state historic preservation laws, and applicable local regulations.
- Conduct agency and stakeholder coordination including consultation with SHPOs, THPOs, federal land-managing agencies, Tribal Nations, and other consulting parties.
- Provide technical leadership and oversight for cultural resources investigations including Phase I, II, and III archaeological surveys, historic resources evaluations, and cultural resources technical reports.
- Manage or support cultural resources scopes, schedules, and budgets for projects ranging from small task orders to large, programmatic efforts.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, regulatory agencies, and consulting partners on cultural resources compliance matters.
- Coordinate with internal disciplines such as environmental planning, engineering, construction, and permitting to ensure cultural resources considerations are integrated into project delivery.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior and mid-level cultural resources staff including field methods, reporting standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Support business development activities including proposal writing, scope development, cost estimating, and client interviews.
- Participate in strategic planning to grow Jacobs' cultural resources practice and maintain consistency with company quality and safety standards. Here's what you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, Historic Preservation, or a closely related field
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in cultural resources management and compliance
- Demonstrated experience meeting the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualifications Standards for archaeology or architectural history
- Proven experience working with Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local cultural resources regulations including NHPA Section 106 and NEPA
- Proven experience leading cultural resources tasks or projects and delivering high-quality technical reports
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment
- Willingness to travel periodically for fieldwork, meetings, and client engagements Ideally, you'll also have:
- Master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, Historic Preservation, or a related discipline
- Experience managing large, multi-state, or programmatic cultural resources efforts
- Prior experience supporting federal clients such as DOI, NPS, BLM, FHWA, FTA, USACE, or DoD, or BLM
- Experience consulting with Tribal Nations and facilitating government-to-government coordination
- Previous experience working in a consulting or professional services environment
- Registered Professional Archaeologist or similar professional certification
- Arizona or Desert Southwest archaeology experience preferred

And certain roles may be eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, performance discretionary bonus, and stock. The base salary range for this position is $127,700.00 to $190,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
