Nature & Purpose of Position Position Summary This position provides administrative support for the Department of Physics & Astronomy. The student worker assists with office operations, helps faculty and staff with administrative tasks, and serves as a friendly point of contact for students and visitors. Responsibilities Assist with general office and administrative tasks. Answer phones, take messages, and respond to or forward emails. Make copies, prepare documents, and help maintain office equipment and supplies. Support faculty and staff with various projects and tasks. Run occasional errands on campus. Help answer questions and direct students and visitors to the appropriate resources. Assist with departmental social media, including creating content and engaging with audiences. Other Requirements for the Position We're looking for students who are organized, dependable, and enjoy helping others. Previous office experience is helpful but not required. Applicants must have completed the lower-level physics courses required for their degree program. Due to the confidential nature of departmental records, students majoring or minoring in Physics or Astronomy are not eligible for this position.
