Position Summary The Scientist I is a key member of the Antibody Conjugation team, responsible for manufacturing fluorescently labeled bioconjugates used in cell signaling and research applications. This role involves hands-on laboratory work, strict adherence to production schedules, and maintaining high-quality manufacturing standards in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Perform antibody conjugation of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies Execute aseptic laboratory techniques in compliance with GLP/GMP standards Conduct chromatography processes, including FPLC (ÄKTA systems) Prepare buffers and reagents accurately Operate general lab equipment (centrifuges, spectrophotometers, pipettes, etc.) Complete and maintain accurate batch records and documentation Initiate and manage deviation reports, problem reports, and CAPAs Open and revise change orders related to documentation Navigate laboratory database systems (e.g., LIMS) independently Follow SOPs, safety guidelines, and production schedules Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Communicate issues promptly and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Collaborate with team members and provide informal leadership support Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related scientific field Minimum 2+ years of laboratory experience (manufacturing or R D environment) Strong experience with chromatography techniques Working knowledge of GLP/GMP practices and documentation Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications Experience with ÄKTA (FPLC) systems Expirience in bioconjugation or fluorescent antibody labeling Experience with CAPAs, deviations, and change control processes Familiarity with LIMS or other laboratory database systems Prior experience in biotech or life sciences manufacturing Demonstrated contributions to continuous improvement initiatives Informal leadership or mentoring experience Core Skills Chromatography FPLC / ÄKTA systems GLP/GMP compliance Batch record documentation Buffer and reagent preparation Laboratory equipment operation LIMS systems Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Carlsbad, CA.
