This Physiologist/Cancer Biologist position will involve teaching to a broad population of students, including professional, graduate, and undergraduate students. Successful candidates will have a full-time 12-month commitment and focus on providing superior educational content, with future opportunities for leadership and/or administrative roles. The applicant will be required to assume teaching responsibilities in both general physiology and cancer biology in support of both professional/graduate school courses and our unique undergraduate program in Cancer Biology. This role will be aligned with the intra-school collaborations involved with the various teaching assignments, including Medical Education, departmental MS programs in Biomedical and Health Sciences and Anatomical Sciences Education, and the B.S. Program in Cancer Biology. Funds for professional development are available, as are funds to support publication and meeting attendance; successful applicants will also be encouraged to apply for both intra- and extramural awards to support their research and/or the educational mission of the department. We are seeking candidates with either a PhD or MD degree and a strong record of significant educational accomplishments and a strong background in teaching both disciplines. This includes demonstration of excellence in the teaching of physiology and cancer biology, and documentation of the use of innovative approaches to medical education. An ability to contribute to the teaching of histology would also be helpful. The successful candidate will join a team of 10-12 anatomists, physiologists, cell/cancer biologists, and 23 basic science research focused faculty who currently teach a broad portfolio of courses in multiple settings across the campus. This appointment will be offered at an academic rank and compensation commensurate with experience.
