This is a flexible position with rotating weekend call. The hours are contingent on the case schedule.
Job Summary:
This position is for an experienced, fully trained embryologist who has a thorough knowledge of assisted reproduction and can perform all standard embryology techniques.
JOB PRINCIPLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to Reproductive Fertility Center's Policy & Procedures.
- Perform routine ART procedures including oocyte retrieval, ln Vitro fertilization, standard IVF insemination, as well as ICSI (lntra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection), extended embryo culture, oocyte/embryo vitrification & thaw, Laser assisted hatching, Day 5 embryo biopsy, and embryo transfer.
- Update an upkeep all quality control, quality assurance, and safety logs.
- Participate in all committees and meetings.
- Perform isolation from MESA and TESA specimen and semen wash for IVF and IUI.
- Perform sperm motility analysis or mouse embryo assay for proficiency testing (AAB).
- Data entry- Office Ally, Excel, lab data compilation.
- Documentation as mandated by CAP, CDC, FDA, California Tissue Bank, CLIA amount other.
- Media preparation of reagents, inventory of lab supplies, and clearing of incubators/lab.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Must promote teamwork and positive human relations and organize with strong management and leadership skills.
- Is flexible with the ability to exercise sound judgement.
- Must have the ability to work in collaboration with managers, employees of all levels, and physicians.
- Must maintain confidentiality.
- Team player. Coordinate efforts to work effectively with others in a manner that is productive, recognizing that this creates continued development of the "team" concept.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Vision within normal limits with or without corrective lenses.
- Hearing within normal limits with or without hearing aids (consideration would be given to an individual with partial hearing loss provided they can demonstrate the ability to receive, interpret and act on instruction given by a normal speaking voice).
- Normal foot/ leg motor skills (consideration would be given to an individual with a leg brace or prosthesis) he/she can demonstrate the ability to move smoothly and rapidly within the operating room environment and carry out the duties of the position.
- Must be able to communicate orally and in writing.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in biology or related field.
- Master's degree in embryology or related biological science; PhD.
- Embryology and Andrology certified (ABB) (preferred)
- 5 years plus experience in a lab performing greater than 250 cycles per year.
