The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of molecular genetic techniques and assays to support our clinical and research efforts. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art laboratory, contributing to cutting-edge advancements in molecular genetics.
Duties:
Perform DNA and RNA extraction from various biological samples. Conduct PCR, qPCR, and other molecular genetic assays for diagnostic and research purposes. Analyze and interpret molecular data, ensuring accuracy and reliability. Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of procedures, results, and findings. Collaborate with laboratory personnel and other team members to ensure smooth workflow and compliance with all regulatory standards. Assist in the development and validation of new molecular assays and techniques. Troubleshoot technical issues related to molecular genetic assays and instrumentation. Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment. Participate in quality control and quality assurance programs to maintain high standards of accuracy and reliability. Stay updated with the latest advancements in molecular genetics and related technologies.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or a similar scientific discipline. Strong technical skills in molecular genetic techniques, including PCR, qPCR, and nucleic acid extraction. Experience working in a clinical or research laboratory setting. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong communication and documentation skills. Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and related technologies. Certification as a Molecular Genetic Technologist or similar credentials. Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS). Previous experience in a clinical diagnostic laboratory.
