The Magzoub Laboratory at NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications from individuals to be appointed as a Post-Doctoral Associate. The research project, under the supervision of Professor Mazin Magzoub, will focus on developing protein- and synthetic small molecule-based inhibitors, and novel drug delivery platforms, for pathogenic protein self-assembly associated with Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's diseases and type II diabetes. Successful applicants will be highly motivated with an interest in working in the areas of Molecular Medicine and Chemical Biology, must hold a Ph. D degree in a related field, and is still within their first 5 years post receipt of the PhD. To be considered, a candidate must have extensive research experience in the areas of protein misfolding diseases or amyloid research, with a strong background in optical spectroscopy and microscopy. Expertise in in vivo models (e.g. C. elegans, mouse) of the above-mentioned areas is highly desirable.
