Job Summary (Primary function) The Director, Antibody Discovery implements, develops, and operates the antibody discovery platforms. The position directs the discovery of therapeutic and tool antibody campaigns, operate as project or technology leader on Biotherapeutic Research campaigns, and participate as a key resource on managing and supporting external collaborations. Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)
  • Lead antibody discovery using immunization and/or display technologies.
  • Direct external collaborations for the discovery and optimization of biotherapeutic compounds
  • Support the establishment and management of new technology platforms for antibody discovery.
  • Collaborate with immunologists and pharmacologists to drive target validation and discovery programs.
  • Utilize Contract Research Organizations (CROs) and internal resources for optimizing discovery processes, ensuring inclusivity and collaboration across diverse teams.
  • Manage a team of scientists supporting Ab discovery and technology development.
  • Establish and manage ambitious timelines for multiple discovery projects.
  • Participate as an in-house specialist in Due Diligences.
  • Responsible for NGS platform implementation for Ab. Discovery. Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)
  • Advanced degree (Ph.D.) in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, or related field, plus relevant experience in antibody discovery.
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in antibody discovery using hybridoma, single cell B cloning and/or display technologies for the discovery of antibodies and antibody fragments.
  • Experience with immunization approaches for enhancing immune responses to challenging antigens is desired.
  • Experience in antibody optimization/characterization is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of molecular biology and bioinformatics.
  • Demonstrate ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Experience leading a diverse scientific team.
  • Experience managing a scientific group
