Yes Duties and Responsibilities Position Summary The laboratory of Dr. Rama Shankar at Loyola University Chicago is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join a newly established research program focused on systems immunology and multi-omics approaches to study sepsis, multiple organ dysfunction syndrome ( MODS), and critical illness. The successful candidate will lead innovative projects integrating single-cell and bulk transcriptomics, epigenomics, and clinical data to identify immune mechanisms and biomarkers associated with disease progression and outcomes. Key Responsibilities Lead independent and collaborative research projects Analyze and integrate multi-omics datasets Develop computational pipelines using R/Python Collaborate with clinical teams Prepare manuscripts and contribute to grant applications Mentor students and research staff Other duties as assigned Minimum Education and/or Work Experience M.D. or PhD Required Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Experience with bench work Experience with single-cell and multi-omics integration Familiarity with RNA-seq, EdgeR, Seurat, Harmony, Monocle3, or scVelo Knowledge of immunology Experience with clinical datasets and HPC Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Demonstrated problem-solving and organizational skills Certificates/Credentials/Licenses M.D. or PhD required The doctoral students should hold a degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Immunology, or a related field Computer Skills General office suite and willingness to learn lab specific programs Strong programming skills in R and/or Python Experience with Next Generation sequencing Record of peer-reviewed publications Supervisory Responsibilities No Required operation of university owned vehicles No Does this position require direct animal or patient contact?
