Cardiovascular Ctr Excellence Job Summary/Basic Functions We seek a highly motivated postdoctoral research fellow to assist and conduct highly independent research investigating the molecular mechanisms that regulate retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) homeostasis, cellular aging, and metabolic stress responses in the context of age-related retinal degeneration. The successful candidate will lead mechanistic studies focused on serotonin receptor signaling and its role in maintaining epithelial barrier integrity, lysosomal function, antioxidant defenses, lipid homeostasis, and cellular senescence. The postdoctoral fellow will design, execute, analyze, and interpret experiments using human RPE cell models, genetic manipulation approaches, pharmacological modulation, imaging-based assays, flow cytometry, biochemical analyses, and publicly available transcriptomic datasets. The position requires a highly motivated scientist with strong training in cell biology, molecular biology, aging biology, ocular biology, or a related field.
Minimum Qualifications Required Education:
PhD Required Field of Study:
Microbiology and Immunology; Cell Biology; and/or Drug Development and Evaluation, or Related Field Type of experience required to perform the job: Strong training in cell biology, molecular biology, aging biology, ocular biology, or a related field.
